How to set or change your card PIN
Your card PIN is the four-digit code you use to authorise in-person payments and ATM withdrawals with your physical Visa card. You can set and change your PIN directly from the Safe2transact portal at any time — no need to contact support.
Setting your PIN for the first time
When you receive your physical card, you will need to set a PIN before you can use it at chip-and-PIN terminals or ATMs.
- Go to the Cards section of your dashboard.
- Select your physical card.
- Choose Set new PIN from the card actions menu.
- Enter your preferred four-digit PIN and confirm it when prompted.
- Your PIN is set immediately and your card is ready to use.
Choose a PIN that is easy for you to remember but not easy for others to guess. Avoid obvious combinations such as 1234, 0000, or your date of birth.
Changing your existing PIN
If you want to update your PIN for any reason — whether for security or because you have forgotten it — the process is the same:
- Go to the Cards section of your dashboard.
- Select the card whose PIN you want to change.
- Choose Set new PIN from the card actions menu.
- Enter your new four-digit PIN and confirm it.
- Your new PIN takes effect immediately.
Using your PIN at a terminal or ATM
Once your PIN is set, use it any time you are asked to enter your PIN during a card payment or cash withdrawal. If you enter an incorrect PIN multiple times in a row, your card may be temporarily blocked by the payment terminal as a security measure. If this happens, please contact our support team for assistance.
Important things to know
- Your PIN applies to your physical card only. Your virtual card does not have a PIN — online payments are authorised using the card number, expiry date, and CVV instead.
- Never share your PIN with anyone, including Safe2transact support staff. We will never ask for it.
- If you suspect that someone else knows your PIN, change it immediately from the Cards section.
- Freezing your card is a quick way to pause all card activity while you sort out any security concerns. See How to freeze or unfreeze your Visa card for details.
